The Faculty Development Department organised a three day Induction Programme for the first year students of Paavai Polytechnic College. The Induction Programme was held from 15.07.2026, 16.07.2026 & 20.07.2026 at Brilliant Hall. The inauguration of the programme was held at Brilliant Hall on 15.07.2026 at 10.00 am. The programme started with a prayer song followed by lighting of the kuthuvilakku. U.Akilandeshwari, I Year – AI&ML, PPC welcomed the gathering.
Shri. CA. N. Natarajan, Chairman, presided over the function and delivered the inaugural address. He encouraged the students to make the best use of their college years by developing discipline, integrity, hard work and responsibility. He highlighted the importance of technical education and emphasised that the practical, industry-oriented learning at polytechnic institutions offers excellent career opportunities. Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent Madam, offered her felicitations and warmly welcomed the first-year students into the portals of Paavai. She stressed the importance of improving English communication skills and language proficiency through regular reading habits. She advised the students to remain focused, excel in their studies, actively participate in the various activities organised at Paavai, and make their academic life purposeful. She also advised them to abide by the rules and regulations of Paavai Institutions. The objectives and methodology of the Induction Programme were read out by K.Harivarsha, I Year – BME, PPC. After the inauguration, the formal sessions commenced.
Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan Chairman conducted the session on the topic entitled “Goal Setting”. The main objective of this programme is to acquaint the students about the need of the goal and to make them understand the significance of goal setting through which they can succeed in their life within the stipulated time. Sir quoted Abdul Kalam Sir’s inspiring words and made all students to repeat those words. Sir stressed on the importance of SMART goals and explained that preparation is necessary to accomplish goals. He correlated his life incidents of setting a goal at the age of 17 and how he made his dream to come true through consistent and persistent efforts. He listed out the six components to sustain victory namely Genuine Goal, Lawful and ethical path, continuous efforts, hard work and smart work, high self -discipline and faith in God. Finally he concluded by stating that,” set your goal, shape your future and be a leader”.
Mrs.C.Jayalakshmi, Dean Counselling, Paavai Institutions delivered her speech on ‘Transition from School to College.’ She said that change is a stressful experience for any one. But for those who have prepared themselves mentally, nothing is difficult. Shifting from school to college is adapting to the innovative changes in the mode of education and move on further in the process of learning. Mrs.M.Vimala, 1st year HoD, PCE delivered her speech on ‘Paavai Culture’. She explained the Paavai Mantra, Slogan, Principles, Beliefs and Code. She detailed about classroom behavior and the principles which should be followed in Paavai. She also explained the hostel rules and told all the hostel students to adhere to the rules of the hostel.
Dr.K.Sundaramurthy, Head, IQAC, PEC addressed the students on ‘Time Management’. In his session, he clearly explained about the importance of time and the necessity to manage time for the students to achieve their goal within a stipulated period. Dr.P.S.Senthilkumar, Head, Placement and Training, delivered his speech on ‘Career Development’. He described how to choose a career with clear knowledge. He described clearly about grooming skills, problem solving skills and communication skills. He insisted the students to speak in English without any hesitation to face interviews and group discussions. He also created an awareness regarding the recruitment and the expectation of the companies. Mr.J.Sankar, Head, Mech, PPC and Mr.R.Prabhudevan, Head, EEE, PPC addressed on the topic “How to approach diploma subjects”. They explained the various possibilities of studying the subjects after understanding the concepts. They also highlighted that polytechnic subjects are practical oriented and job opportunities are aplenty. Mrs.Pradeepa, AP, Mathematics, PEC elaborated the topic, ‘Beauty of Mathematics’. In her session, she beautifully explained how mathematics plays a pertinent role in day to day life. She also taught mathematics in interesting ways and elucidated its usage in everyday life. She played many videos related to mathematics. Some of the students recorded their feedback during the feedback session. Totally 207 students benefitted from this programme.
