A three day orientation programme for the 1st year students was held from 17.08.2022 to 20.08.2022. Shri CA N V Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the Inaugural function held at Brilliant Hall. In his inaugural address. He highlighted the importance of education and how education can transform a generation. Finally, Chairman inaugurates the event by saying the statement, “I inaugurate the three day orientation programme for the first year Polytechnic Students”. Smt.Mangai Natarajan, the Correspondent in her felicitation address, she stressed the importance of self-confidence, and to respect the opposite gender with due regards and proper attitude. Earlier N.K.Dinakaran, Principal, Paavai polytechnic college, welcomed the gathering.
Mrs. Vimala, Ist year HoD, PCE, delivered her speech on ‘Paavai Culture’. She explained the Paavai Mantra, Principles, Belief and Code. She detailed about classroom behavior and the principles which should be followed in Paavai. She strongly imposed the culture to be followed strictly on and off the college campus.
Dr.R.Shanthi, HoD, Eng, PEC elaborated the essence of Communication skills. She acquainted the students with the skills of English language such as Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. She gave tips to improve one’s Communication skills. In this Session, the students came to know about the importance of English.
Dr.K.Subashini, Head, FDD, elaborated the topic, “Value Education”. In her talk, she narrated various life incidents of Great Leaders, like Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam and so on. She finally concluded that Education with character is desirable to lead a purposeful life to make home, society and nation to be proud and peaceful. Mr.Elavarasan, yoga trainer demonstrated the various Asanas and yoga exercise to the students.
Mrs.Poonkodi Professor, ECE, PCE, addressed on the topic “How to approach diploma subjects”. She explained the various possibilities of making the subjects simple. She also highlighted that, polytechnic Subjects are practical oriented and job opportunities are plenty.
Mr.C.Loganathan, HoD, Audio and Visual, Paavai Institutions, addressed the students on ‘Life Skills’. He created awareness among the students regarding first aid. He encouraged them to help the needy on time without any hesitation and fear. He advocated the students to rescue people from various accidents and motivated them to donate blood, eye and organs. He also taught them how to prepare first aid kit. He showed many inspiring videos regarding parents and how the children should respect them.
Dr.M.PremKumar, Principal, PEC spoke on the title “Involve to Evolve”. He expounded the topic by focusing on participation, involvement in academic and non-academic activities of the college. He narrated his own life incidents to make students to understand that involvement is important to elevate them to a higher level.
Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, expounded a speech on ‘Respect Education’. She elucidated in detail the significance of education and their role in the society. She encouraged the students to shed off their inhibition and bring out their inner talents by participating in various events. She also portrayed various alumni of Polytechnic students who were in top companies.
Dr.D.Bhanumathy, CSE, HoD, PEC delivered on the title “Chillax”. In this session, she made everybody to relax and created stress free environment. She has shown various videos on stress management. She made the students lively and participants.
Mrs. Prathiba Asp, Mathematics, PEC delivered her speech on ‘Beauty of Mathematics’. In her session, she beautifully explained how mathematics plays an important role in day to day life. She also taught mathematics in simple way and elucidated its usage in everyday life. Totally ten session were held and activities were conducted to keep the spirit of the programme. Totally 145 students got benefitted from this programme.
