On 19.12.2025, our II & III – YEAR students from the department of EEE students along with III- year Mechanical Engineering students of Paavai Polytechnic College had an educational industrial visit to Mettur Thermal Power Plant. The visit was organised to provide students with practical exposure to power generation processes and industrial operations.
During the visit, students were given a comprehensive guided tour of the plant, including the boiler section, turbine units, control rooms, and auxiliary systems. The plant engineers and technical staff explained the working principles of thermal power generation, energy efficiency measures, safety protocols, and environmental considerations.
This hands-on experience allowed students to observe the real-world applications of theoretical concepts learned in the classroom, particularly in the fields of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. The visit also encouraged students to develop professional skills, understand industrial practices, and gain insights into career opportunities in the power sector.
The industrial visit aligns with PPC’s commitment to enhancing practical learning, fostering industry-academia interaction, and preparing students for professional excellence. Students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to witness advanced technology and operational processes in a large-scale industrial setup. This initiative reflects our continuous effort to bridge academic knowledge with practical industrial experience, enriching the overall educational journey of our students.
