Paavai Arts and Science College for Women grandly celebrated International Yoga Day on 20 June 2026 at Madhuram Open Hall with the theme “Healthy Ageing.”
The programme was presided over by Shri. CA N.V. Natarajan, Founder and Chairman, and Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Educational Institutions. The Principal of Paavai Arts and Science College for Women welcomed the gathering and extended a warm reception to the dignitaries. Shri. CA N.V. Natarajan honoured the Chief Guest with a shawl and memento.
In her inspiring address, Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Educational Institutions, highlighted the significant role of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. R. Priyadharshini, II B.Tech. AI & DS, delivered the introductory address and introduced the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest, Prof. M. Thangavel ‘Ulavan’, was accompanied by Arulnidhi Selvi Beads Kandasamy, Managing Trustee, Manavalakalai Mandram Arakattalai. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Thangavel spoke about the rich history of yoga and emphasized how it serves as a universal practice that unites people beyond the boundaries of religion and culture. Shri. CA N.V. Natarajan, Founder and Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, encouraged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine for a healthy and balanced life.
A special attraction of the programme was the artistic yoga demonstration by students of Paavai Engineering College, led by Mr. Elavarasan, Yoga Master, Paavai Engineering College. Their impressive performance captivated the audience and showcased the beauty, discipline, and strength of yoga.
Students from Paavai Arts and Science College for Women and Paavai Polytechnic College actively participated in the yoga session, where they learned various asanas and breathing techniques that promote physical fitness, mental wellness, and inner peace.
The celebration successfully created awareness about the importance of holistic health and inspired students to embrace yoga as a way of life, perfectly reflecting the theme “Healthy Ageing.”
