ANNUAL REPORT 2021 – 2022 

I am very much pleased to present the 23rd annual report of Paavai Polytechnic College. 

  • The Classes for II & III year students commenced on 4th September 2021, in a traditional manner with a lot of enthusiasm.
  • On 11.09.21, Department Association Club was conducted in Online Mode by our Alumni student M.Prasana, Technical Consultant, Tech Mahindra, Bangalore, K.Manoj, GM-Mechanikka Industry, Coimbatore, M.Muruganathan, Tata Consultancy Services, Chennai.
  • On 15.09.21, Engineer’s Day was conducted  in Online Mode on the title “Engineer’s and their Creations – which I Admired” by K.P. Ravichandran, Director, DMW CNC Soln, Pvt.Ltd, Erode and K.Abdul Hameed, Managing Director, DERMAINDIA, Chennai.
  • The Faculty Development Programme was conducted for newly joined staffs on 05.10.21 to 13.10.21 by Thiru. CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions.  
  • The Classes for I year students commenced on 20th October 2021.
  • The Placement Training Programme was conducted for third year students on 21.10.21 to 23.10.21 by Placement Cell, Paavai Institutions.  
  • On 13.11.21, one day workshop was conducted for first, second and third year students on the title “Computer Maintenance and trouble shooting, House hold articles maintenance and reparing, Household civilwork, 2 wheeler maintenance and servicing” by Mr.S.Jagatheesh, Circuit & Hardware Head, Uniso system India Pvt.Ltd, Salem, Mr. K. Global, Plumber, Paavai Institutions, Mr.P.Raja, Sri Venkateshwara Auto Work, Pudhansanthai.
  • The International Students Day celebration was held on 17.11.21 for all the students.
  • An Orientation Programme was conducted for our first year students on the title “PAAVAI CULTURE, LIFE SKILLS, VALUE EDUCATION, INVOLVE TO EVOLVE, STRESS MANAGEMENT” from 02.12.21 to 04.12.21 by Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, Paavai Engineering College.
  • An Orientation Programme was conducted for our second and third year students on the title “PAAVAI CULTURE, LIFE SKILLS, VALUE EDUCATION, INVOLVE TO EVOLVE, STRESS MANAGEMENT, COMMUNICATION SKILLS” from 14.12.21 to 16.12.21 by Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, Paavai Engineering College.
  • A Motivational Programme was conducted for all our polytechnic students on the title “LEADING TO MEANINGFULL LIFE” on 20.12.21 by ISKCON members from Salem.
  • An Entrepreneur Development Cell was conducted for all our polytechnic students on the title “ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND TNSI AWARDS” on 04.01.22 by N.DineshBabu, Field Co-ordinator , EDII-TN, Government Polytechnic College, Coimbatore.
  • The International Women’s Day celebration was held on 08.03.2020 for all the women students.
  • On 26.03.2022, II and III year Mechanical, Automobile and Chemical Engineering students with staff members went to trekking at perumal kovil near Paavai Institutions.
  • On 02.04.2022, II and III year EEE, ECE, CSE, BioMedical and Agricultural Engineering students with staff members went to trekking at sidhar kovil near Alavai Malai.
  • The Skill Development Programme was conducted for first, second and third year students on 11.04.22 by G.S.Supragha, SRM Research student project Guide, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
  • Alumni Reunion Meet celebrated for our polytechnic students from the batch of 2001 to 2019 held on 17.04.22 and 24.04.22 under the title “MALARUM NINAIVUGAL, MANAKKUM URAVUGAL” by Thiru.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions.
  • An Innovative Training Programme was conducted for the students of our Polytechnic College on 20.04.22 by Thiru. CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions.
  • The student Development Programme was conducted for the first year students on 28.04.22 by Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions.  
  • The Annual Day of Paavai Educational Institutions was held on 07.05.22 at Kalpana Chawla Open Area. The function celebrated for all the students. The Chief Guest, Mr.A.Kaliyamoorthy,  Former Superintendent of Police, Indian Police Service, Trichy,  
  • Sports day
  • On 17.05.22, Life Skill Program was conducted for III year students by Mr.C.Loganathan, AV/HOD, Paavai Institutions.

SPORTS & GAMES

Besides Academic activities, our students have participated in various Tournaments in Divisional and State Level Competitions and won the Prizes.

  • Our Polytechnic Student Selvan M.Vishwa, second year Mechanical Engineering had represented All India National Federation cup-2021 at Goa on 25th and 26th November 2021. He was participated U – 17 Athletics 200m and he won Gold Medal.

GUEST LECTURE

To improve the subject knowledge of the students, experts from different fields were invited to deliver Guest Lectures.

  • Department of Automobile and Mechanical Engineering conducted a guest lecture programme on 04.22 for II & III year students on the topic “RECENT TRENDS IN AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING” by Dr.Pugalendhi, Paavai Engineering College.
  • Department of Agricultural and Civil Engineering conducted a guest lecture programme on 04.22 for II year students on the topic “SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SKILL” by Mr.Subramani, Coast Global Private Ltd, Bangalore.
  • Department of Agricultural and Civil Engineering conducted a guest lecture programme on 04.22 for II and III year students on the topic “TOWN PLANNING AND SURVEYING” by G.S.Supragha, SRM Research student project Guide, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
  • Department of Computer Engineering conducted a guest lecture programme on 04.22 for II and III year students on the topic “JAVA PROGRAMMING” by Dr.N.Magendiran, Paavai Engineering College.
  • First year conducted a guest lecture programme on 04.22 for first year students on the topic “CAREER GUIDANCE AND ENTERPRENEURSHIP” by M.Karthik, Assistant Professor, Siri PSG Arts and Science College for Women.
  • Department of Agricultural Engineering conducted a guest lecture programme on 05.22 for II year students on the topic “SOIL EROSION” by Mrs.Priyadarshini, Assistant Professor, Paavai College of Engineering.

PARENTS MEETING

In order to discuss the academic performance of our students, Parent meet has been conducted frequently.

  • Parents meet was conducted on 21st March 2022, for our First Year Students to discuss the odd semester academic performance and action to be taken for further improvement.
  • To discuss the academic performance of Third year students of all Departments, Parents meeting was conducted on 26.03.22.
  • On 28.03.22, Parents meet was conducted for the Second Year Students and discussed their academic performance.

NSS ACTIVITIES

  • Under NSS Activity, IGEN GREEN DAY was conducted on 23.10.21 in the title “ GREEN PAAVAI CLEAN PAAVAI” for the first year, second year and third year students was cleaned the Polytechnic campus.

PAPER PRESENTATION

Our Students have actively participated in many Symposiums and presented Technical Papers on various Topics.

  • On 27th October 2021, online mode 17 students presented a Paper and 4 students participated in poster Design in the National level Technical symposium at Er. Perumal Manimekalai College of Engineering.

BOARD EXAMINATION RESULTS

OCTOBER’21/FEB’22

Due to covid-19 pandemic situation October 2021 Board exam postponed to February 2022 are conducted through Online Mode.

  • Department of ECE secured 86% result in III semester, 82% result in V semester.
  • Department of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering secured 76% result in III semester, 80% result in V semester.
  • Department of Computer Engineering secured 83% result in III semester, 80% result in V semester.
  • Department of EEE secured 86% result in III semester, 70% result in V semester.

APRIL’ 2022/JUL’22

  • Department of ECE secured 70% result in VI semester.
  • Department of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering secured 76% result in IV semester, 70% result in VI semester.
  • Department of Computer Engineering secured 76% result in IV semester, 70% result in VI semester.
  • Department of EEE secured 78% result in IV semester, 70% result in VI semester.    

CAMPUS RECRUITMENT

  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by DMW CNC solutions India Pvt.Ltd – Coimbatore on 22.07.2021 at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering. 13 students were selected
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by OLA Electric Scooter – Hosur Spinks Softech Pvt.Ltd. on 09.08.2021 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 8 Students were selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Watertec India Pvt.Ltd – Coimbatore on 05.01.2021 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 50 students are selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by MSM Engineering Pvt.Ltd – Chennai ABI Showatech (India) Limited on 09.10.2021 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 25 students were selected.
  • On 30.10.2021, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Titan Engineering & Automation Limited (Tata Group) – Hosur at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering.
  • On 17.11.2021, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Sakthi Auto Component Ltd – Perundurai at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering Students. Six Students were selected.
  • On 23.12.2021, Pooled Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by PSA AVTEC PowerTrain Pvt.Ltd – Hosur at Paavai Polytechnic College. 16 Students are selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Zoho Schools Of Learning on 12.05.2022 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 3 students were selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by TVS Group Company – Chennai on 24.05.2022 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 13 students were selected.

CONCLUSION

            To conclude the academic year 2021-2022 sailed smooth with varied activities being imprinted in its achievements. It is an ongoing process and each staff member has contributed towards the achievement of goals. We march with a great vision and we are truly optimistic in achieving it.

            My sincere thanks go to our management who lend their helping hands at all moments. I thank all the staff for their co-operation and service rendered to the student community.
