ANNUAL REPORT 2019 – 2020 

I am very much pleased to present the 22nd annual report of Paavai Polytechnic College. 

  • The Classes for II & III year students commenced on 3rd June 2019, in a traditional manner with a lot of enthusiasm.
  • The inaugural Function for the I year classes was held on 12th June’19. The function started with Ganesha and Saraswathi pooja. Thiru.CA N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai institutions, delivered the presidential address. Students performed patha pooja to their parents on this occasion.
  • An Orientation Programme was conducted for our first year students on the title “PAAVAI CULTURE, LIFE SKILLS, CAREER DEVELOPMENT, GOAL SETTING” from 01.07.19 to 03.07.19 by Thiru. CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions.
  • A Review and Re-View Programme was conducted for our second and third year all department students on the title “CAREER DEVELOPMENT, GOAL SETTING” from 17.07.19 to 19.07.19 by Thiru. CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions.
  • On 27.07.2019, Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, fourth year death anniversary silent prayer conducted and student’s speech about his “LIFE & QUOTES”.
  • 73rd Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2019, in a grand manner. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions hoisted the National Flag and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted in connection with 73rd Independence Day.
  • Guruvanakkam and Padha Pooja were performed on the occasion of the Teachers Day Celebration on 5th September 2019.
  • On 23.10.2019, Hostel day conducted in a grand manner. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions delivered the presidential address. Students performed the various cultural events.
  • On 04.01.2020, Paavai Mission on Women Empowerment programme  conducted on the title “ANBAE ERAI, ARIVAE MARAI, THUNIVAE THUNAI” by Mrs. Swetha Mahendran, Chief Executive, Thiruvalluvar Gurukula Elementary School, Trichy.
  • Ulavu Thiruvizha 2020 programme on 10.01.2020 and 11.01.2020 was conducted by the Chief Guest Dr.P.Murugesa Boopathi, Former Vice Chancellor, Tamilnadu Agricultural University.
  • On 25.01.2020, II and III year Mechanical Engineering students with staff members went to trekking at perumal kovil near Paavai Institutions.
  • 71st Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January 2020, in a grand manner. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions hoisted the National flag and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions.
  • On 01.02.2021, Re-Union 2020 programme was celebrated on the title “MALARUM NINAIVUGAL, MANAKKUM URAVUGAL” by Thiru.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions.
  • On 15th February 2020, the mega cultural event “VYUGAM 2020” was organized at Paavai Polytechnic College. Tmt.S.SUMATHI, Principal, Paavai Polytechnic College, presided over the function. The winner’s team was prized by our Polytechnic Principal Madam.
  • The International Women’s Day celebration was held on 07.03.2020 for all the women students. The Chief Guest Smt.Durga Moorthi, DRO, Namakkal.
  • Our Polytechnic provides an opportunity for budding students to speak about “Science and Technology” Innovations every day at 1.00 p.m.

SPORTS & GAMES

Besides Academic activities, our students have participated in various Tournaments in Divisional and State Level Competitions and won the Prizes.

  • Our women’s Ball Badminton Team won First place in the IPAA Salem Divisional Level women’s Ball Badminton Tournament held on 06.09.2019 at Excel Polytechnic College, Komarapalayam.
  • On 12.12.19 our Men’s Basket Ball Team won First place in 10th consecutive IPAA Salem Divisional level held at Paavai Polytechnic College, Namakkal.
  • On 12.12.19 our Men’s Ball Badminton Team won First place in 6th consecutive IPAA Salem Divisional level held at Paavai Polytechnic College, Namakkal.

GUEST LECTURE

                To improve the subject knowledge of the students, experts from different fields were invited to deliver Guest Lectures.

  • Department of Computer Engineering conducted a guest lecture programme on 08.19 for II & III year students of CSE, EEE & ECE on the topic “WIRELESS NETWORKING”. The lecture was delivered by our alumni student Mr.K.Jambu Kumar, Engineer, Qualcomm India Pvt.Ltd., Chennai.

PARENTS MEETING

In order to discuss the academic performance of our students, Parent meet has been conducted frequently.

  • Parents meet was conducted on 19th & 20th September, for our First Year Students to discuss the odd semester academic performance and action to be taken for further improvement.
  • To discuss the academic performance of Third year students of all Departments, Parents meeting was conducted on 03.01.20.
  • On 04.01.20, Parents meet was conducted for the Second Year Students and discussed their academic performance.

NSS ACTIVITIES

  • Under NSS Activity, training program on “THUIMAI PANIYIL ILAINARGAL” was conducted from 4th to 10th March 2020 for the first year, second year and third year students at Paavai Polytechnic College.
  • Under NSS activity, was organized “Corona Virus Awareness Programme” the chief guest Dr.Vinod Kumar MBBS, Asst. surgeon, Puthuchatram the programme was conducted at Paavai Polytechnic College. Our NSS Volunteers participated.

PAPER PRESENTATION

 Our Students have actively participated in many Symposiums and presented Technical Papers on various Topics.

  • Final Year Computer science and Engineering students Selvan.B.Bhuvanesh and Selvan. B.Manjunath presented a paper in state level Technical symposium at Muthayammal Polytechnic College, Rasipuram on 04.07.2019 and won Second prize.
  • On 22nd August 2019, Selvi. M.Neha and Selvi. N.Mithra of Final year Computer science and Engineering presented a Paper in state level Technical symposium at SSM Polytechnic College, Namakkal and won second prize.

BOARD EXAMINATION RESULTS

OCTOBER’19

  • Department of ECE secured 86% result in III semester, 82% result in V semester.
  • Department of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering secured 70% result in III semester, 70% result in V semester.
  • Department of Computer Engineering secured 83% result in III semester, 70% result in V semester.
  • Department of EEE secured 76% result in III semester, 70% result in V semester.

APRIL’ 2020

Due to covid-19 pandemic situation April 2020 Board exam are conducted through Online Mode.

  • April 2020 Board Exam II semester and IV semester result all pass was declared by DOTE.
  • April 2020 Board Exam VI semester Postponed to September 2020, the exam was conducted through online mode.
  • All departments on VI semester secured 100% result.

CAMPUS RECRUITMENT

  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Brakes India Pvt.Ltd, Chennai on 18.12.2019 at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering. 13 students were selected
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Spinks Softech Pvt.Ltd. on 06.01.2020 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 18 Students were selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Milekal Engineering Pvt.Ltd, on 07.01.2020 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 10 students are selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by ABI Showatech (India) Limited on 08.01.2020 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 33 students were selected.
  • On 21.01.2020, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Sakthi Auto Components at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering. 53 Students were selected.
  • On 24.01.2020, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Nokia, Chennai at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering Students. Six Students were selected.
  • On 14.02.2020, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Infac Larsen & Toubro at Paavai Polytechnic College. 5 Students are selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by JBM Group on 15.02.2020 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 33 students were selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Eureka Outsourcing Solutions on 17.02.2020 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 13 students were selected.
  • Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by JBM Group (MCT) on 19.02.2020 at Paavai Polytechnic College. 26 students were selected.
  • On 25.02.2020, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Tube Investments of India Pvt.Ltd, at Paavai Polytechnic College. 5 Students were selected.

CONCLUSION

            To conclude the academic year 2019-2020 sailed smooth with varied activities being imprinted in its achievements. It is an ongoing process and each staff member has contributed towards the achievement of goals. We march with a great vision and we are truly optimistic in achieving it.

            My sincere thanks go to our management who lend their helping hands at all moments. I thank all the staff for their co-operation and service rendered to the student community.
