A guest lecture programme was organized by the Civil Engineering Association of Paavai Polytechnic College for the second and third year students on 04.01.2019. Mrs.S.Sumathi Principal of Paavai Polytechnic College had inaugurated the guest lecture program and it was started with the Prayer Song by Second year girls. After the prayer song, the Welcome Address was delivered by Final year student R. Bhavithra. Final year student B. Pavithra introduced the chief guest to the gathering. The Chief Guest Prof.P.Kalimuthu, HOD, Department of Civil Engineering, Paavai College of Engineering had delivered an elaborate lecture on “TOTAL STATION”. In his lecture, he explained about the various types of surveying, importance of total station in civil field and he gave detailed presentation on total station and parts of total station . Finally he gave experimental procedure on how to use total station in field. At the end he clarified the doubts raised by the students and also motivated the students about the role of Civil Engineer. Finally, vote of thanks was delivered by Final year Student T.Janani Shamily. At last, the program was ended with the National Anthem.
